VIDEO OF THE DAY

Head coach Robbie Caldwell recaps the Commodores’ practice on Thursday evening:

PHOTO OF THE DAY

Make it four days in a row!

We’re going retro today with a Commodore baby photo from two decades ago. This fan continues to support the black and gold to this day (but might be a little embarrassed that his mom sent the picture in).

And remember… Keep the streak alive and send in your Commodore youngster photos (click here to submit). I’ll post the image in a future edition of Barca Break.

QUOTES OF THE DAY

“He’s a guy that you want to show up and work hard for. He’s that kind of coach.” — Chicago Bears Chris Williams on his collegiate offensive line coach, Robbie Caldwell (Source: Associated Press)

” … The first thing you learn is patience and better communication skills, and I think that those key parts of parenting are going to help make me a better coach for this team this year. (Laughing) I definitely have been a lot more calm this preseason than I ever have been.” — Soccer head coach Ronnie Woodard on how being a mother has helped her as a coach (VUcommodores.com)

REMINDER OF THE DAY

A limited number of football single game parking permits for the new Blakemore parking lot are now available for purchase for the Vanderbilt home season. More Information

TWEET OF THE DAY

@earlbennett80 (Earl Bennett): “Blessed!! Everyone have a great day!!!”

RANDOM VIDEO OF THE DAY

The comedy troupe The Kids in the Hall are back. Their new, eight-part murder-mystery miniseries will debut tonight on the IFC channel at 9 p.m. CT.

I grew up on their original sketch show (which probably explains my humor, or lack thereof). If you’ve never heard of them, check out some of their classic bits on YouTube.

Click here to send in your submission for “Random Video of the Day” and I may post it in a future entry.

SONG OF THE DAY

The theme to The Kids in the Hall, performed by Shadowy Men On A Shadowy Planet. Incredible cast.
