VIDEOS OF THE DAY

If you came to Dore Jam yesterday, you noticed Vanderbilt football’s brand new equipment tractor and trailer outside the front gates of the practice facility. How did the Commodores acquire this sweet rig for road games? Old Dominion Freight Lines and Vanderbilt Athletics recently entered into a multi-year partnership which includes the branded equipment truck along with marketing and advertising elements.

Check out the following footage of the vehicle. Also, props to Creative Services for producing the design on the trailer.

Soccer Head Coach Ronnie Woodard discusses the Commodores’ 2-2 draw against Belmont

PHOTO OF THE DAY

Nice email and photo from Commodore fan Brooke Austin:

“Hi from a Vandy employee who’s also a Vandy fan. My husband, son, & I really enjoyed the Dore Jam event yesterday! See attached pic, and please let the coaches and others know how nice, patient, and mannerly all of the players were including Sean Richardson in the attached pic. Very nice young men– and really cool with the kids, too. Thanks!”

QUOTES OF THE DAY

“That was great testament to where we are as a team, that we could fight back down 2-0 with 20 minutes left on the clock. No matter who you’re up against, that’s a difficult task to accomplish. I felt like we had really good momentum toward the end of the game.” — Soccer head coach Ronnie Woodard on the Commodores’ comeback

“I love every one of them [Vanderbilt football players]. I’m just here for them. I want to push ’em and prod ’em, and my definition of love is tough. If they need a butt-chewin’, we’ll give ’em that. If they need a hug, we’ll give ’em that, but I believe in every single one of them.” — Football head coach Robbie Caldwell on coaching the Commodores (Source: The City Paper)

REMINDER OF THE DAY

David Price (15-5, 2.84 ERA) takes the hill for Tampa tonight against Texas at 6:10 p.m. CT (TV: Sun Sports). The Rays are one game behind the Yankees in the AL East standings, and hold a five game lead over the Red Sox for the Wild Card.

TWEETS OF THE DAY

@daveys31: “Pretty good time at Dore Jam. Team is young but seems confident. Ready fo the season! VU!!!”

Jamie Graham (@Foxx_25): “Dore Jam was a success. A lot of people were wearing #25 jerseys… Thank you all”

Wesley Tate (@tatethagreat): “Done with Dore Jam! Good to see all the fan support.”

RANDOM VIDEO OF THE DAY

Sylvester Stallone was the big winner over the weekend as his new flick Expendables topped the box office with $35 million in ticket sales.

Sly must have went into Lincoln Hawk mode and turned his hat around (like a switch).

Click here to send in your submission for “Random Video of the Day” and I may post it in a future entry.

SONG OF THE DAY

In honor of Stallone, I give you Robert Tepper’s Top 40 song from Rocky IV. The lesson: When faced adversity, jump in your Lamborghini and tell yourself, “There’s no easy way out.”

Cue the montage.
