Augusta Awaits

Two Vanderbilt golfers to compete at Augusta National Women’s Amateur

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt’s Ava Merrill and Elizabeth Rudisill will compete at the annual Augusta National Women’s Amateur this week. The 54-hole event takes place April 1-4 in Augusta, Georgia.

The premier amateur event in women’s golf, the ANWA features 72 of the top amateurs from around the globe.

The first 36 holes of the tournament will be played on the Island and Bluff nines at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta on Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, all participants will play a practice round at the famed Augusta National Golf Club. For the 30 leading players and ties following the first two days, the final round will take place at Augusta National on Saturday.

Junior Ava Merrill will tee off the first round with Group 16 on hole No. 10 at 8:21 a.m. CT on Wednesday. Freshman Elizabeth Rudisill will tee off with Group 15 on hole No. 1 at 8:21 a.m. CT.
