NASSAU, The Bahamas — The three-day Battle 4 Atlantis tips off Wednesday as No. 24/23 Vanderbilt men’s basketball opens the holiday tournament against Western Kentucky in an 11 a.m. CT clash on ESPN.
The Commodores are making their first appearance in the Battle 4 Atlantis. Dave O’Brien and Jimmy Dykes are courtside for the call on ESPN. Vandy fans can also tune into 102.5 The Game and the Vanderbilt Athletics App to hear Kevin Ingram and Tim Thompson’s take on the action in Imperial Arena.
THESE DORES CAN SCORE
- Vanderbilt leads the country averaging 103.0 points per game this season.
- The Commodores are one of two teams to score 100 points in four games this season and are the only program to do it in regulation (Troy, 2 OT games).
- For the first time in program history, Vanderbilt opened the season with back-to-back 100-point games. The opening onslaught marked the first consecutive 100-point games since 1980 for Vanderbilt.
- Vandy has topped 100 in four games for the first time since 1971-72 when the Dores hit the century mark a program-record six times.

- Vanderbilt entered the AP Top 25 at No. 24 on Monday. The Dores are ranked No. 23 by the coaches.
- Vandy is ranked in both polls concurrently for the first time since 2015.
BALL CONTROL
- Vanderbilt leads the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.82.
- The Commodores rank second in the country in fewest turnovers committed, averaging just 7.6 per game. The mark stands atop the SEC.
- Against UCF, the Dores did not commit a single live-ball turnover. It marked the first time since 2016 a Commodore opponent did not record a steal.
- Duke Miles ranks second nationally and atop the SEC with a 14.0 assist-to-turnover ratio. Tyler Tanner sits 23rd in the country and fourth in the SEC at 5.5.
- Vandy also ranks seventh in the country with 21.4 assists per game. The Dores recorded 28 assists in their win over Texas Southern, the program’s most since 2005 and three shy of the school record.
TANNER ON THE BREAKOUT
- Tyler Tanner flashed as a freshman a season ago, and now, the guard is showing signs of a breakout sophomore campaign.
- Tanner is averaging a team-leading 16.0 ppg through the first five contests after scoring just 5.7 ppg in his first season. He’s scored in double figures in all five games.
- As a freshman, Tanner made just 17 threes all season while shooting 26.6 percent. To open the 2025-26 campaign, he’s already knocked down 12 triples and is shooting 52.2 percent beyond the arc.
- Tanner produced a career-high nine assists in the win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
- In the win over Texas Southern, Tanner dropped a career-best 20 points while also dishing out seven assists.
- On the defensive side, Tanner is tied for the team lead with 13 steals, picking up where he left off from a record-setting 55 swipes in his freshman campaign.
