When Ryan Schulz (assistant communications director) asked me to do this blog throughout the season I didn’t hesitate in accepting his offer. For one, I love to write and share my thoughts with other people (even if most of the time I am sure they would rather I didn’t). Secondly, I thought it was a great opportunity to share with fans of Vanderbilt some of the obstacles, joys, fears, wins, and losses with them. There is no doubt the end of this season did not quite turn out the way most of us expected, but there are always positives you can draw from any situation you encounter in your life.
I can honestly say over my past two years at Vanderbilt I have grown so much as a person. There are many life lessons I will take away from this past season and will be able to apply them to the rest of my life. To some, it may seem as if this season was much more of a disappointment than a success, but I do not agree with that. In any situation you have two choices (you actually have a lot more than two, but there is only so much Ryan allows me to write!). You can either learn and grow from hardships or you can make excuses. I believe our team will grow and be better for it next year and for years to come.
Once again I am so thankful to Ryan and the coaches for allowing me to write this blog and share my feelings with all of you. Your support does not go unnoticed. I hope all of you will be a part of the ‘Dores family again next season. Have a great “off-season” and get those season tickets early. Go ‘Dores!
