Angela’s Angle Archive

Junior guard Angela Puleo is writing a season-long blog for VUCommodores.com. A native of Maryville, Tenn., Puleo is in her first year playing with the Commodores after having to sit out last year due to NCAA transfer rules.

In the spirit of Halloween some of us decided to make it a SAW weekend. Claire is pretty much obsessed with the SAW movie series so she was excited when we decided to catch up and go see the new SAW film in theaters (in 3D!). Being the scaredy cat that I am, I now jump every time my phone rings… and sometimes when it doesn’t!

Although I have been talking about it for weeks, the first exhibition game really is here (almost)! This Thursday we take on Delta State at Memorial Gymnasium. It will be a test to see just where our team is and show us our strengths, and also the things we need to continue to work on. After Thursday, the season will begin to fly by. With the warm weather we have had, it hardly seems like November and time for basketball… but, like I said, it’s here!

It is also nice to have my family close. My little cousins, Hawkins (3) and Langley (9mo) Pate were the cutest trick-or-treaters ever. Hawkins was a fireman (his life’s ambition) and Langley was the cutest little Dalmatian puppy you can imagine. It brought back memories of my Halloween nights…throwing on my dad’s Atlanta Braves jersey and hitting the neighborhood with a BIG bag for candy. Not a lot of planning, but the result was the same.

We hope to see all of you at the game at 7 p.m. this Thursday in your black and gold. Go ‘Dores!
