Alumni bowlers survive U.S. Open cut

RENO, Nev. – Two Vanderbilt graduates were among the 50 women making the cut at the United States Open here Sunday.

After 18 games, Brittni Hamilton (Vanderbilt 2012) was in 14th place with 4,009 pins and Josie Earnest (Vanderbilt 2010) was 20th with 3,993. They trail Kelly Kulick, who had 4,294 as the smaller field heads into the next round.

After Monday’s afternoon session, the field will be sliced to 16 and a series of round-robin match play games begin tonight.
