Allen Honored for Academics

Isabel Allen represented Vanderbilt on the Conference USA All-Academic Team

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt bowling graduate student Isabel Allen earned a spot on the Conference USA Bowling All-Academic Team, which was announced by the league Friday.

The all-academic team consists of six players, who were voted on by participating schools’ academic advisors. Nominees must have a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and have competed in 75 percent of scheduled matches.

Allen is pursuing a master’s degree in medicine, health and society at Vandy. She earned her bachelor’s degree in integrated studies at Jacksonville State.

In her first season with the Commodores, Allen has been named to three all-tournament teams and was selected the Prairie View A&M Invitational MVP after finishing first individually. She compiled a 240 game average at the event, which ranks third in Vanderbilt history for high individual tournament average.

Allen’s efforts have also contributed to the Dores’ tournament wins at the PVAMU and Stallings Invitationals. She was part of the Vandy squad that totaled 1,237 pins in a traditional game at the Ladyjack Classic, which set the school record for high team traditional game. Allen also bowled in the Dores’ 299 Baker game at the Storm Flyer Classic.
