NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Wade Taylor IV scored a game-high 25 points as Texas A&M ended Vanderbilt’s run at the SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament Saturday with an 87-75 victory over the Commodores in the semifinals at Bridgestone Arena.
Tyrece Radford scored 16 points and Julius Marble has 13 for the Aggies, who improved to 25-8 overall this season. Dennis Dexter led Texas A&M with seven rebounds.
Tyrin Lawrence paced Vandy (20-14) with 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting, while Jordan Wright recorded 17 points, seven rebounds, six assists and five steals. Ezra Manjon contributed 16 points, and seven assists for the Dores, who also got a career-high 15 points from Colin Smith and five rebounds from Quentin Millora-Brown.
Texas A&M led by as many as 26 after shooting 69 percent in the first half, taking a 49-25 advantage to the locker room, although the Dores would cut their deficit to 11 with just over two minutes remaining. The Aggies ended up shooting 59.6 percent for the contest including making 10 of 19 attempts from 3-point range.
Vanderbilt shot 53.8 percent from the floor and made nine 3-point field goals, but turned the ball over 17 times.
