ACC/SEC Challenge Television Schedule Announced

SEC Network to host both Vanderbilt games on Dec. 3

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – ESPN has announced Wednesday the television schedule for the third annual ACC/SEC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Challenge. SEC Network will air both of Vanderbilt’s games in the event on Dec. 3 at Memorial Gymnasium.

The Commodore women’s basketball team takes Ingram Court first on Dec. 3, as they welcome Virginia at 4 p.m. The Vandy men’s basketball team hosts SMU in the nightcap starting at 8 p.m.

Season tickets for the 2025-26 Vanderbilt men’s basketball and women’s basketball campaigns are on sale now.

On the men’s side, it will be the 23rd all-time meeting between the Commodores and Mustangs. Vanderbilt holds a 14-8 advantage in the all-time series. Vandy and SMU will play for the first time since December 2021, when SMU won, 84-72, in Dallas. The Dores and Mustangs have battled only twice this century, with the other contest being an overtime tilt in Memorial Gymnasium in 2020.

The women’s matchup will be the seventh all-time meeting between the Commodores and Cavaliers. The last game between the two took place on Nov. 23, 2012, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, as part of the San Juan Shootout.  Virginia leads the series against Vanderbilt, 4-2, with the Cavaliers winning each of the last two meetings. It will be the first time Vanderbilt has hosted Virginia since the 1995-96 campaign, when the Dores posted a 72-65 victory on Dec. 9, 1995. It’s also a rematch of an Elite Eight contest in the 1992 NCAA Tournament, in which the Cavaliers claimed a 70-58 victory to move on to the Final Four.
