Vanderbilt men’s basketball closes out the 2012 year with a visit from nationally ranked Butler on Saturday evening at 7 p.m. at Memorial Gym. The game will be televised on ESPNU, and the game can be heard live on the Vanderbilt IMG College Radio Network in the middle Tennessee area and online at vucommodores.com. - Butler enters the game with a 9-2 overall record, with the Bulldogs riding a six-game winning streak, which dates back to the finals of the EA Sports Maui Invitational (loss to Illinois).
- Arkansas transfer Rotnei Clarke leads four players in double figures with a 17.7 ppg average. In Clarke’s last trip to Memorial Gym, he scored 36 points, including 6-8 from three, in a Razorbacks’ win (89-78, 1/29/11).
- One of Butler’s losses this season was at Xavier on 11/13 (62-47). Vanderbilt knocked off XU at Cintas Center, 66-64, on 12/6.
- VU is 0-3 all-time against Butler, with the last meeting coming in the 1929-30 season. All previous games were held at Butler.

Stallings One Win Away From Becoming Memorial Gym All-Time Wins Leader
Coach Kevin Stallings is one win away from becoming the all-time wins leader at Memorial Gym. Stallings sits at 181 wins and is tied with Vanderbilt legend Roy Skinner for the all-time lead in wins at the legendary facility. The Commodores are 3-1 at Memorial Gym this season, and in the Stallings’ era, Vanderbilt is 114-12 in his 14 years at the helm in non-conference action at the facility.
Commodores Rank Low In Experience
Vanderbilt is ranked 320 among the 347 Division I basketball playing schools in terms of experience on the roster by kenpom.com. Vanderbilt has no seniors and only two juniors on this year’s roster.
‘Dores Three-Point Streak Still Intact
Vanderbilt has made a 3-pointer in 842 consecutive games, a streak which began at the inception of the 3-point line in 1986-87. The Commodores rank second only to UNLV for the longest streak in Division I basketball. Vanderbilt, UNLV and Princeton are the only three schools in college basketball to have made at least one 3-pointer in every game played since the 3-point line was implemented.
