14th Mason Rudolph Women's Championship to take place this weekend

  • 14th annual Mason Rudolph Championship will be played on the Vanderbilt Legends Club South Course for first time.
  • Commodores are the highest ranked team in the field from 2014 at number 11.
  • Vanderbilt returns four of five starters from last year’s team that won the SEC Championship and an East Regional Championship.

The Vanderbilt Commodores will host the 14th annual Mason Rudolph Championship this Friday through Sunday at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn., in a tournament that will feature 11 of the nation’s top 40 teams. Tee times begin Friday at 8 a.m. on the South Course.

Teams Participating
Alabama (#13, end of 2014 ranking), Chattanooga, Clemson (#22), Auburn (#28), GRU-Augusta (#37), Kentucky (#32), Lamar, LSU (#18), Michigan State (#24), Mississippi State (#19), Princeton, Tulane (#30), Vanderbilt (#11), and Virginia (#20). The host Commodores will play with two teams.

Course Setup
After 13 years on the North Course, the Mason Rudolph Championship moves to the South Course. It will be set up as a par-72, 6,276-yard format.

Tournament Format
Four out of the team’s five scores will count toward the team total every round. Eighteen holes will be played Friday through Sunday, with tee times beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 7:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Admission
There will be free admission to the tournament all weekend.

Playing for Vanderbilt
The Commodores will be playing with two teams this weekend. The Vanderbilt “A” team will feature 2014 East Regional champion Jennifer Hahn, a junior, senior Kendall Martindale, junior Morgan Ransom, senior Irina Gabasa, and sophomore Antonia Scherer. The Vanderbilt “B” team consists of freshman Cindy Ha, sophomore Kate Sborov, freshman Alexandra Farnsworth, graduate student Katie Rose Higgins, and sophomore Lauren Johnson.
