Mohr and Lee Bound for NCAAs

Two student-athletes qualify for invite to NCAA Singles/Doubles Championships

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — On Tuesday the NCAA announced invitations to the Division I Singles and Doubles Championships. Vanderbilt junior Célia-Belle Mohr will represent Commodore women’s tennis as the 13th seed at the NCAA SinglesChampionships, the second time in her career she has qualified for the singles bracket. Mohr, alongside senior Anessa Lee, also received an invite to the NCAA Doubles Championships.

The tournament will be held in Stillwater, Oklahoma, at the end of May.

Last week Mohr was named to the All-SEC first team for the second year in a row, boasting 27 singles victories overall this season including 10 over nationally-ranked opponents. Throughout the season, Mohr maintained her position as a top-20 singles student-athlete, currently sitting at No. 15 in the nation entering national postseason play.

Last season saw Mohr advance to the second round of the singles championships.

The doubles duo of Mohr and Lee hold the No. 33 national spot in the ITA rankings and boast a 26-12 record for the season. The pair defeated four nationally ranked opponents—the most recent being Georgia’s then-No. 9 Aysegul Mert and Dasha Vidmanova.

The singles and doubles championships are scheduled for May 20-25 at the Greenwood Tennis Center on the campus of Oklahoma State.
