Four Earn Conference Honors

Kemper Robinson named All-American Athletic Conference First Team

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Junior Kemper Robinson was named All-American Athletic Conference First Team while Molly Finlay, Ella Smith and Taylor Sampone were named All-AAC Second Team on Wednesday morning. This marks the first honor for all four student-athletes.

Robinson finished the regular season with a team-high 35 goals, scoring at least one time in every conference game this season for a total of 12 in AAC play. The Owings Mills, Maryland, native posted 16 of her 42 points this season against league opponents. This season, Robinson was named AAC Midfielder of the Week twice, the first and final week of the regular season.

Finlay has the third-most goals on the team this year with 30 and has dished nine assists for the second-highest point total on the team with 39. The junior has won 39 draw controls this season, good for second-most on the team also.

Sampone, who was named a captain this season, has picked up 15 of her 39 ground balls this season in conference contests. The Rochester, New York, resident is just one ground ball away from 100 in her career. The senior has a team-high-tying 20 caused turnovers on the year, along with Robinson.

Smith has had a career season, scoring 17 goals and recording a team-high 18 assists for 35 points. The Lake Oswego, Oregon, native has won a career-best 48 draw controls so far this spring with 21 coming against AAC opponents.

The Commodores begin postseason play on Thursday afternoon in the semifinals of the AAC Tournament. Fourth-seeded Vandy is slated to face top-seeded Florida at 4:30 p.m. at the Vanderbilt Lacrosse Complex. The contest will be shown on ESPN+.
