Lily Williams, BA’16

Lily Williams, an elite track cyclist representing Team USA, will soon become the first female Vanderbilt graduate to compete in the Olympics. A member of the 2020 team pursuit world championship squad, she has a good chance to become just the second Commodore to win a gold medal.

Given the route the former middle-distance runner took from Nashville to the Izu Velodrome outside Tokyo, she is also among the unlikeliest Olympians in the American delegation … Full story.

Matthias Schwab, BA’17

Vanderbilt golf will be represented at the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo as former Commodore Matthias Schwab will compete for Austria starting July 29 in Saitama, Japan.

Schwab, from Rohrmoos, Austria, was a three-time All-America selection from 2014-17 for Vandy. He was also named All-SEC three times and made the 2014 SEC All-Freshman team … Full Story.
