Veronica Fraley, MS’23

Veronica Fraley, continues her historic season in Paris where she will become Vandy’s second female Olympian. Earlier this year, she became the Dores’ third NCAA individual champion when she won the discus at the outdoor championships.

She placed 13th overall in qualifying, launching a top throw of 62.54 meters.

Lily Williams, BA’16

Lily Williams, an elite track cyclist representing Team USA, was the first female Vanderbilt graduate to compete in the Olympics. A member of the 2020 team pursuit world championship squad, she and her squad brought home a bronze medal from Tokyo. In Paris, Williams and the 2024 squad won gold, taking down New Zealand in the gold medal round.

Given the route the former middle-distance runner took from Nashville to the Izu Velodrome outside Tokyo, she is also among the unlikeliest Olympians in the American delegation … Full story.
