Vanderbilt Set for Black and Gold Invitational

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt track and field will host the Black and Gold Invitational, its lone outdoor home meet of the season, this Friday and Saturday at the Vanderbilt Track. 

Twenty-six Commodore student-athletes will compete, led by middle distance runners Reagan Bustamante and Haley Walker and sprinter Jenn Edobi. 

There is one other SEC school scheduled to compete (Kentucky) and seven Tennessee schools (Austin Peay, Belmont, Lipscomb, Middle Tennessee State, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech and Trevecca Nazarene). The field also includes: Ball State, Butler, Central Michigan, Dayton, Eastern Michigan, Hillsdale, Indiana State, IUPUI, Loyola, Michigan, Southeast Missouri State, UAB, Virginia Tech and Western Kentucky. 

Edobi will see her first action of the season in the 400 meters. The graduate student was an NCAA Outdoor East Regional qualifier the last two seasons in the event.

General admission tickets are available at the facility for $5. Doors will open at 3 p.m. CT on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday. 
 
Spectators can park in the 25th Avenue Garage (levels 9-11) prior to 6 p.m. and then in lot #75 off of Natchez Trace after 6 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday, spectators can use lot #75.
