Sundin Secures Top Freshman Nod

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – For the second straight week, Vanderbilt saw one of its freshmen recognized as the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week after Callie Sundin garnered the weekly honor on Tuesday.
 
Sundin put in an efficient performance in Vanderbilt’s 18-5 victory last Sunday. Sundin scored two goals on just two shots. She also added her first collegiate assist, two draw controls and one ground ball.
 
Sundin has had a solid start to her freshman season. Over the past two games, she has scored six goals, which ties her for second on the team with Julie Blaze.
 
Blaze was also honored this week as she was named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll. In the win over Furman, she scored two goals for the third straight game while posting a game-high six draw controls.
 
She also filled up the stat sheet with one assist, one ground ball and one caused turnover.
 
The Commodores continue their five-game road trip on Wednesday against Louisville at noon CT.
