Mile High Matchup Awaits Commodores

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt faces its first ranked opponent this season on the road at No. 9 Denver at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday at the Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.
 
The Commodores (4-0) are off to their best start since 2008 when they began the season 5-0. In their last outing, the Commodores defeated Louisville, 9-8, in overtime for their second straight road win of the season.
 
The game-winning goal came off the stick of Emily Mathewson with four seconds to spare in overtime. Mathewson finished the game with two goals and has scored in every game so far for the Dores, with multi-goal performances in her past two games.
 
Lily Argyle earned her third win of the season after posting her best performance in net in her Commodore career. She posted a career-high 14 saves in the contest.
 
The Dores have been dominant on both sides of the field and find themselves ranked second in the nation in assists per game (9.50), fourth in caused turnovers per game (15.25) and seventh in points per game (25.25).
 
Denver (4-1) is coming off its first loss on the season, falling at home to No. 20 Michigan, 12-10.
Denver has also secured victories over No. 4 Stony Brook and Louisville.
