Vanderbilt women’s soccer honored its Senior Class prior to the regular season home finale against Kentucky.  The foursome have been instrumental in the Commodores’ outstanding 14-3-1 season and Top 25 national ranking.  Here is a brief sketch of each senior.

ASHLEY DUFFY  is a defender from Ashburn, Virginia.  Ashley has played in 17 games this year to date, starting eight of those contests.  She became one of the team leaders during her junior season when she played in all 19 games.  She is a two-time academic all-SEC member.

MEGHAN HABIG has started 33 games over the last two seasons as a midfielder. This season, Meghan is a team captain and ranks among the team’s top five in all scoring categories and has two game winning goals.  As a junior, Meghan was named to the Southeastern Conference second-team and has twice been academic all-SEC.  Last year Meghan led the team in scoring with seven goals and 15 points while this year she has scored eight points to date.  Perhaps the highlight of her career came last season with a tremendous, game-winning goal with 10 second left in overtime against LSU.  

KELCI HEGG is a forward from Charlotte, North Carolina.  She has played in 64 games since her freshman year, starting in 37 of those contests.  This season she is the team’s second-leading scorer with 15 points on six goals and three assists, leading the Commodores in goals.  She scored a hat trick against Francis Marion and the game winning goal against Denver. 

LAUREN MITCHELL has started all 18 games this year and 35 games over the past two seasons.  The midfielder from Millersville, Maryland was second on the team as a junior in goals, assists and shots and third in scoring.  This season she scored the game winning goal against LSU.  She has twice been named academic all-SEC and has been on the Vanderbilt Dean’s List.
