Williams named to TDS team of the week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt soccer sophomore Cheyna Williams was named to the Top Drawer Soccer team of the week, following her performances against Arkansas and Mississippi State.

The forward from Hampton, Ga., scored two goals and had two assists in the overtime loss to the Razorbacks, and picked up the hat-trick along with an assist in the ‘Dores first SEC win over the Bulldogs.

Williams now has 15 goals and 5 assists on the season, giving her a total of 35 points. Her 35 points put her at sixth in the nation, and her 2.33 points per game put her at fourth nationally. The sophomore is tied for the conference lead in goals, while also tying for sixth in the country.

Williams is just four goals shy of tying the Vanderbilt school record of 19 goals, set by Laura Koerner in 1998.
