Devyn Parham is second among collegians in the heptathlon after Day 1

WALNUT, Calif. – Vanderbilt’s heptathletes, Marta Sivina and Devyn Parham, got the Commodores’ three-meet weekend started at Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, California.

Parham is second among collegians and seventh overall after Day 1 with 3,170 points. She started off the competition with a first-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking 13.95 seconds, which is a personal best and the eighth fastest time in school history. In the high jump, Parham cleared 1.57 meters and recorded a 10.34-meter throw in the shot put. To end the first day of competition, she finished second in the 200 meters with a personal-best time of 24.51 seconds.

Sivina sits in 10th place in the heptathlon standings with 2,606 points. She started off the morning turning in a time of 14.23 seconds in the 100 hurdles. In the high jump, she recorded a 1.66-meter clearance. Ending the day with the 200 meters, Sivina crossed the finish line in 25.36 seconds.
