Commodores attempt to tame third set of Tigers to come to FirstBank Stadium this fall

TIGER KINGS
• Vanderbilt returns to FirstBank Stadium this Saturday for its third straight home game against Tigers (LSU, Missouri, Auburn).
• The Commodores are coming off a three-point loss at No. 20 Texas after a ferocious fourth-quarter comeback came up short.
• Vandy and Auburn are dead even in the all-time series at 22-22-1 since the first meeting in 1893.
• The Commodores have won two of the last three contests in Nashville, and three of the last five games overall.
• Entering the Texas game, the Dores were off to a 7-1 start for the first time since 1941 and recorded three regular season wins over AP top 25 opponents for the first time in program history.
• Vanderbilt is tied with Alabama for most wins over AP top 15 teams this season with three.

FULL STEAM AHEAD
• Vanderbilt’s offense has produced at a historic level this season, sitting 13th nationally in scoring offense at 37.6 points per game through nine contests.
• In program history, the Commodores have only finished three seasons with a scoring average better than 40 points: 1904, 1905 and 1915.
• Vanderbilt’s offense ranks in the top 25 nationally in five major categories. The Dores lead the SEC in third down conversions, rank second in TFLs allowed and team passing efficiency and third in scoring offense.
• With 70 and 55 points in back-to-back contests vs. Georgia State and Utah State, Vanderbilt produced consecutive games with 50-plus points for the first time since 1915.

RELIABLE
• Eli Stowers ranks second nationally among tight ends with 543 receiving yards through nine games in 2025.
• Stowers racked up a career-high 146 receiving yards with two touchdowns at Texas in Week 9. It was his first multi-touchdown game and the fourth 100-yard receiving contest of his career. The 146 receiving yards are fourth most by a tight end in FBS this season and the most by a Vandy TE since at least 1996.
• He ranks third among all active tight ends with 1,547 career receiving yards. Both players ahead of Stowers have played four full seasons to Stowers’ two-plus at the position.
• Stowers’ 12.7 yards per catch career average is seventh nationally among active tight ends.

DOMINANT DIEGO
• Diego Pavia enters Week 11 sitting 19th in the country and fourth in the SEC with 18 passing touchdowns. He ranks 16th nationally in passing efficiency (162.0), 15th in completion percentage (69.2), ninth in points responsible for with 146, 22nd in total offense with 284.9 yards of production per game and 23rd in yards per pass attempt at 8.6.
• His 365 passing yards and 408 totals yards of offense at Texas were both career highs. The 408 yards were the most by a Commodore since 2015 and most against an SEC opponent since 2006.
• With 2,564 yards of total offense this year, Pavia’s 2025 campaign currently stands 12th all-time at Vanderbilt on the season record list.
• Entering Week 11, Pavia has 8,779 career passing yards to his credit. He ranks seventh in career passing at Vanderbilt with 4,356 yards as a Commodore.
• No active players in FBS have more total touchdowns accounted for than Diego Pavia (104).

SHERRILL STRIKES
• Junior Sherrill surpassed 1,000 career receiving yards with two catches for 30 yards in the win over LSU in Week 8.
• Sherrill leads the Dores with five touchdown receptions on the season and his six total scores are third on the team behind Sedrick Alexander and Diego Pavia. His five TD grabs rank fifth in the SEC.
• Sherrill is second on the team with 31 catches while averaging 12.7 yards per reception in 2025.

SYDNOR GETS STOPS
• Graduate defensive lineman Khordae Sydnor has continued to make his presence felt in opposing backfields during his second season at Vanderbilt, already amassing 6.5 tackles for loss through nine games this season.
• The 6.5 stops behind the line of scrimmage are second on the team. His 37 yards of created loss are second most behind only Capers with 59.
• His 6.5 TFL matches his career high set last season at Vandy and in 2022 at Purdue.
• Sydnor owns 13 TFL at Vanderbilt and 22.0 over his five-year career.
• With 2.5 sacks this season, Sydnor sits third on the Dores. He is tied for the team lead in quarterback hurries, registering six this year.
