Team Notes

  • Vanderbilt’s win over Texas A&M ended a three-game losing skid at the SEC Tournament and a three game losing streak at Bridgestone Arena.
  • The Commodores limited Texas A&M to 33.3% from the floor, 14.3% from three, and 41 points, the lowest by an opponent this season (previous low was 48 against Mississippi State on Feb. 25).
  • After tying a season low with 23 points in the first half, the Commodores scored 43 in the second behind a 55.2% performance from the floor and a 57.1% shooting effort from three.
  • Vanderbilt outscored the Aggies’ bench, 17-0.
  • Vanderbilt made 10 or more threes for the 16th time this season (11-29) and have a 12-4 record in those games. Eight of the team’s 11 threes came in the second half.
  • The Commodores are now 38-53 at the SEC Tournament and 5-6 in SEC Tournament games at Bridgestone Arena.
  • Vanderbilt defeated the Aggies for the third time this season – the last time the Commodores knocked off an opponent three times in one season was Georgia in 2012.

Individual Notes

  • Sophomore Joe Toye scored a career-high 18 points on a career-best five made threes. Seventeen of his 18 points came in the second half.
  • Junior Riley LaChance added 14 points, his 52nd career game in double figures. He also made four threes on the night.
  • Senior Nolan Cressler added 11 points in the win – he has now scored in double figures in 14 games this season. He also added seven rebounds.
  • Junior Jeff Roberson only tallied two points, but was a monster on the glass, registering 10 rebounds on the night, his sixth game this season and 11th of his career with double digit rebounds.
  • All nine active players scored against the Aggies.
