NASHVILLE – The Vanderbilt women’s soccer team plays host to its final home weekend of the 2012 season when Auburn and Florida visit the Vanderbilt Soccer Complex.

The Commodores welcome Auburn to town on Friday, Oct. 19, for a 7 p.m. CT matchup. Sunday’s game against Florida has been designated as Senior Day, and Head Coach Derek Greene will honor VU’s five graduating seniors prior to the 1 p.m. match.

Vanderbilt stands in ninth place in the Southeastern Conference with three games to play, but is in search of points in the final week of the season. The Commodores (2-4-4) have amassed 10 points in league play and stand one point ahead of South Carolina. Vanderbilt has dropped three straight matches after suffering only one defeat in its first seven league contests.

Alabama, LSU and Georgia are tied for 11th with eight points. The top 10 teams make the SEC Tournament in Orange Beach, Ala., beginning Oct. 29.

Auburn won at Georgia last Friday to earn its 15th league point. The Tigers are tied for sixth with Ole Miss, but hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Rebels. Auburn’s Tatiana Coleman has four goals and four assists in SEC play to lead the league in points per game.

Florida currently stands atop the table with a 9-1 record. The Gators lone league loss came in their SEC opener at Kentucky. Florida plays at Alabama on Friday before traveling to Nashville.

Sunday’s Senior Day festivities are scheduled to start at approximately 12:40 p.m. Coach Greene will be joined by VU administrators for an on-field presentation honoring seniors Emily Bush, Amanda Essay, Kate Goldin, CJ Rhoades and Dana Schwartz.
