Women's Tennis Tabbed No. 2 Nationally

NASHVILLE- Concluding last season ranked No. 2 in the nation, the Vanderbilt women’s tennis team enters the 2019 spring season ranked No. 2 according to Oracle ITA’s Division 1 Top 25 Women’s Rankings. 
 
The Commodores finished the 2017-18 season having lost only four matches and finishing undefeated at home with 13 victories. Led by head coach Geoff Macdonald and associate head coach Aleke Tsoubanos, the Dores repeated as SEC regular season and tournament champions. Vanderbilt finished as NCAA runner-up, dropping a 4-3 match to then-No. 15 Stanford in the final. The Cardinal enters the 2019 season as the preseason No. 1 team in the nation.
 
Entering the 2019 season with seven veteran players, the Dores also feature two new strong additions in freshmen Carolyn Campana from California and Georgia Drummy from Dublin, Ireland.  
 
Accompanying the Commodores in the Top 25 are fellow SEC opponents Mississippi State (No. 3), Florida (4), Texas A&M (9), Georgia (12), Tennessee (19), Alabama (22) and South Carolina (25).
 
The Dores kick off the spring season this weekend in Coral Gables, Florida in the Miami Spring Invite, where they will take on Kentucky, Miami and Northwestern.
