The Vanderbilt volleyball team takes a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo, Japan
The morning started with a trip to Shinsaibashi, the main shopping district in Osaka and a popular tourist destination. Before the day’s match, the team toured Kansai University and got to see its athletic facilities and other teams. The group also had a chance to see archery, martial arts, sumo and a cheerleading performance.

On Day 3, the Dores were back on the road and headed to Kyoto where the group visited a bamboo forest.
After a bullet train ride into Tokyo, the tea headed to Shinjuku, which is a major shopping and entertainment district, for dinner.

In the morning, the team visited Sensō-ji, Tokyo’s oldest-established temple.

In the afternoon, the Dores played a friendly match versus Nihon Taiku University.

To begin their last day in Japan, the Dores visited the Meiji Jingu Shrine. It is the most popular shrine in the Harajuku area of Tokyo and was dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken.
The group closed out the trip with a team dinner, during which each student-athlete was presented with a jersey signed by the whole team.
