Top-ranked Vanderbilt went 2-2 on the week, losing its three-game series at No. 19 Texas A&M after securing the opener … The Commodores snapped Samford’s 10-game win streak during the midweek … Vanderbilt scored nine times in the first inning and received a notable relief performance from right-hander Mason Hickman as part of an 11-6 win against Samford on Tuesday night … Cooper Davis delivered a two-strike, two-run squeeze bunt and right-hander Drake Fellows shook off early command issues to highlight a 7-4 victory against Texas A&M in the SEC opener Friday night … The Aggies erased a five-run deficit, scoring as many times in the eighth, before walking it off in the ninth behind a two-out RBI-single from Jonathan Ducoff for an 8-7 win on Saturday afternoon … Shortstop Ethan Paul delivered a three-run home run in the fifth inning as part of a five-RBI day … A season-high four Commodore errors and dominant Texas A&M pitching lifted the Aggies to a series-clinching 7-0 win … The loss snapped Vanderbilt’s streak of 17 consecutive series victories (April 29, 2016-present) when winning the opening game … The Commodores will play their next nine games in Nashville beginning Tuesday against Belmont at First Tennessee Park … Vandy opens a three-game series on Thursday against Florida at Hawkins Field with the matchup to be broadcast on the SEC Network.
