Commodores excel in latest Graduation Success Rates

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt Athletics finished with an overall Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 95 — the highest of any Southeastern Conference program for the sixth straight year — the NCAA announced Tuesday.

Vanderbilt also ranked 19th nationally overall and fourth among Power 5 programs.

The Commodores led the nation with a 98 GSR for Black male student-athletes and first among Power 5 programs with a 98 GSR for all Black student athletes. Vanderbilt’s 96 GSR for male student-athletes tied for second nationally.

Ten Vanderbilt programs earned a perfect score, including: baseball, men’s basketball, men’s golf, men’s tennis, bowling, women’s golf, lacrosse, soccer, women’s tennis and women’s cross country and track (for NCAA purposes, Vanderbilt women’s cross country and track and field are combined in GSR measuring).

Vanderbilt’s football program led the SEC with a GSR of 95, third among programs affiliated with a Power 5 conference.

The NCAA Graduation Success Rate tracks degree completion for student-athletes, including those who transfer.

Vanderbilt’s NCAA Graduation Success Rate of 97 last year was the highest among Southeastern Conference institutions.
