NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt received its fourth preseason top five ranking of the 2021 campaign, as the Commodores were tabbed third in the USA Today Preseason Coaches Poll, announced Thursday.

Vanderbilt is among nine SEC Teams in the Top 25, including six teams inside the top 10. The Commodores are joined by top-ranked Florida, Ole Miss (No. 5), Mississippi State (No. 7), Arkansas (No. 8), LSU (No. 9), Tennessee (No. 16), South Carolina (No. 20) and Georgia (No.24).
The Commodores will play a combined 25 games against Top 25 teams, including the annual Battle of the Barrel against No. 6 Louisville.
Tuesday, Vanderbilt checked in at third in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) preseason rankings. The Commodores have been ranked inside the preseason top 10 of every major college baseball poll.

Vanderbilt opens the season on Feb. 19, welcoming Wright State to Hawkins Field for a three-game weekend series. It marks just the second time in the past five seasons that the Commodores will begin the season at home.
