Vanderbilt to appear on ESPN networks a dozen times

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt will be televised a dozen times on the ESPN family of networks, including all three games of pivotal conference series at LSU and Florida, the Southeastern Conference announced Tuesday.

The Commodores will appear on the SEC Network eight times beginning with the final two games of their series at Tennessee (March 21-22). Vanderbilt’s Thursday and Friday contests at LSU will be showcased on the network before shifting to ESPNU for the Saturday finale.

For a second consecutive season the Battle of the Barrel, featuring Vanderbilt and Louisville on May 5 at Hawkins Field, will be broadcast nationally. The contest, which features the nation’s preseason No. 1 and No. 2 teams, can be seen on ESPN2.

Beginning May 5, Vanderbilt will be on television four times in five days. The Commodores’ first two matchups at Florida (May 7-8) are set for ESPNU and the finale (May 9) will be on the SEC Network.

Other SEC Network telecasts include April 12 vs. South Carolina and April 25-26 against Alabama. Vanderbilt and LSU lead the league with 12 televised contests followed by Arkansas with 11. Additional “wildcard” games in April and May will be determined at a later date.

ESPN will present more than 1,000 NCAA baseball games during the 2020 regular season across ESPN networks, with 17 college conferences highlighted in ESPN’s industry-leading coverage. During the postseason, on top of carrying the entire Southeastern Conference tournament, 153 games will be televised across ESPN Networks, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNEWS and SEC Network, with all college baseball action available on the ESPN App.

A season ago, 1.94 million viewers watched Vanderbilt and Michigan square off in the College World Series finals. The Commodores’ win in Game 3 of the series was the highest rated and most watched winner-take-all matchup in a College World Series final since 2014 (Vanderbilt-Virginia: 1.6, 2.39M).
