Experience: Fourth Season at Vanderbilt

2013: Former Belmont goalkeeper and assistant coach Kyle Roelke joined head coach Derek Greene’s Vanderbilt women’s soccer staff as a volunteer assistant coach before the 2012 season.

A native of South Bend, Ind., Roelke was a three-year starter for the Bruins and still holds numerous school records. He earned a business degree in 2007 and completed his master’s in 2009, both from Belmont.

After graduating from Belmont, Roelke played professional soccer overseas for several years. His career began in the Scottish Premier League, where he played for Ross County and Inverness. Roelke would later play in Iceland, Guatamala and Puerto Rico. He also has competed for the Indiana Invaders of the Professional Development League and the Nashville Metros.

Roelke holds a USSF B license and an NSCAA Premier Diploma along with a Level III National Goalkeeping Diploma form the NSCAA. He spent the 2012 season as a member of Nate Norman’s staff at Western Michigan.

Prior to working with the Broncos, Roelke spent five seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater. He still maintains a position coaching youth soccer with the Tennessee Soccer Club.
