Jill Doherty returns as the assistant coach for her alma mater for the second straight season in 2020.
One of Vanderbilt’s most decorated athletes, Doherty ranks among Vanderbilt’s best in the record books: second in assists (84), seventh in points (175) and third in draw controls (163). She played from 2014-17 and serves as the recruiting coordinator for the Commodores.
Doherty works closely with the midfielders and coordinates the high-powered offensive attack from the Commodores.
Doherty began her time at Vanderbilt in 2013 as a member of a top-10 recruiting class.
The Reading, Massachusetts, native majored in human and organizational development and graduated in 2017 as a four-year starter and senior captain for the Commodores. She ended her career at Vanderbilt ranked second all-time in assists, third in draw controls, seventh in points and second in single-season draw controls.
Doherty was a volunteer assistant throughout the 2017 season and brought her unique perspective to shooters and the draw.
