Tyler Clarke

Assistant Athletic Director • Sport Science and Sport Performance

Tyler Clarke was appointed as Vanderbilt’s assistant athletic director for sport science and sport performance in 2022 after a stint as the department’s director of applied sports science from 2021-22. He also spent six seasons as Vanderbilt’s assistant director of strength and conditioning.

Clarke came to the Vanderbilt program in 2014 after serving seven seasons as an assistant strength coach for Nebraska’s football program.

Prior to joining Nebraska, Clarke spent three seasons as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Iowa. Previously, Clarke served as a student assistant with the Hawkeye strength and conditioning staff while working toward his degree.

He earned his bachelor’s in health and sports studies from Iowa in 2005 and his master’s in administration from Central Michigan in 2008. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association. Clarke is also certified in CPR through the American Red Cross.

A native of Ames, Iowa, Tyler and his wife, Oxana, are the parents of a son, Aleksandr, and daughter, Vera.
