Ken Amato

Quality Control • Special Teams

The 2020 season is the first in a quality control capacity for Ken Amato, who works with the Commodores’ special teams unit. Amato is no stranger to Nashville, having spent nine seasons (2003-11) as a long snapper and linebacker for the Tennessee Titans.

Amato came to West End following more than three years with the Dallas Cowboys, where he most recently served as defensive quality control and assistant linebackers coach. With Dallas, he organized and coached linebacker individual drills, ran and organized scout teams and installed defensive game plans with linebackers among other responsibilities.

He spent the 2016 season at Limestone College in Gaffney, South Carolina, serving as outside linebackers coach and special teams coordinator. There, he installed weekly game plans for both outside linebackers and special teams while also organizing practice drills and situations.

Amato served as an assistant football coach at Brentwood (Tenn.) High School for three seasons (2013-15), working with defense and special teams following his career with the Titans.

He received his undergraduate degree in sociology from Montana State in 2000. Amato served as long snapper all four years with the program. As a sophomore, he received all-conference honors. He played defensive end and linebacker, posting 48 tackles as a junior.
