NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt men’s golf team will head south of the border this Sunday through Tuesday at the Cabo Collegiate in Los Cabos, Mexico. The three-day, 54-hole event will take place at the Cabo Del Sol Golf Club with some of the nation’s top teams in attendance.
The Commodores will send senior John Augenstein, junior Harrison Ott, sophomore Reid Davenport, and freshmen William Mol and Matthew Riedel to participate in the tournament.
Competing with Vanderbilt at Cabo Del Sol is Arkansas, Houston, Florida State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, LSU, Stanford, Alabama, Baylor, California, Arizona, Rice, Arizona State, and Ole Miss. Seven of the teams competing are in the Golfstat.com Top 25.
“The Cabo Collegiate is truly one of the very best events in college golf,” said Vanderbilt head coach Scott Limbaugh. “We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to participate and our student-athletes really enjoy this trip as much as any. We are playing a new course this year and I have heard nothing but amazing things about Cabo del Sol. Our team is climbing right now and our challenge to them has been to embrace every minute of that climb because every day matters. We are a group that is trying to create winning habits and a championship mindset.”
The Commodores will tee off on Sunday morning at 10 a.m. CT in a shotgun start. Live results can be found throughout the week on Golfstat.com.
