Today we had our second game against the Kyoto Bunnys. It was cool because they are so talented. Watching them play out of their attack was impressive. It was a little difficult to keep up with, but we ended up doing well and it was a great experience to be able to see that style of play and be involved in it ourselves.

After some much needed down time and a really good lunch, we took a boat tour on the Hozugawa River. That was probably my favorite part of the entire trip so far because, although the sightseeing in the cities is great, being able to see all of the nature that Kyoto has was beautiful. The setting was so relaxing and peaceful.

A couple of the girls and I got to sit next to our guide, Simon, who told us a bunch of stories about Kyoto since he previously lived in Japan. It was awesome how they also had vending boats to serve you while you rode down the middle of the river. Simon told us a few more stories about the geishas and even let us in on a surprise that I’m looking forward to tomorrow: we’re having dinner with a geisha!

Other than that, I’m really looking forward to visiting Hiroshima tomorrow. I’m really excited to get a historical perspective that goes beyond the surface level of what I know about Japan.

Finished our ⚽︠portion of the trip this AM. Quality minutes played & some good goals we’re excited to highlight later! pic.twitter.com/ar0Z7sC0bT
