NASHVILLE, Tenn.  Taylor Elliott and Erin Myers logged thousands of minutes, played in 109 games and made 93 starts on the soccer field over the last four years.

But, to them, the lessons learned at Vanderbilt on and off the field along the way, have a left a bigger impact than anything that unfolded on the pitch during their careers. Elliott and Myers recently sat down with vucommodores.com to reflect on their careers. To watch the video, click here.

“Wearing the Star V and something that says Vanderbilt soccer means more than just, ‘I’m a part of a program,'” Myers said. “You represent the values and the culture that transcend just being on the field.”

Elliott, a native of Massapequa, N.Y., spent five seasons at Vanderbilt after redshirting the 2011 campaign. She was one of the team’s most improved players in 2015, playing every game, making 13 starts and scoring a career-high four goals. She was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week in October and scored the game-winning goal in Vanderbilt’s first SEC Tournament win in 10 years. She graduates later this month with a degree in political science.

Myers, a native of Armonk, N.Y., played and started in all 79 games of her career. The three-year captain scored two goals and was a pivotal piece of Vanderbilt’s success, especially in 2015 at center back. In May she will recieve her degree in Interdisciplinary Studies: Managerial Finance and Marketing and already has a job lined up after she graduates.
