NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt has accepted an invitation to compete in Sam Houston State’s 10th annual Kat Klash on Nov. 20-21 in Conroe, Texas.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to compete,” Vanderbilt head coach John Williamson said. “Sam Houston State has organized a good event with strong COVID protocols much like the LaTech Invite so we feel as though we can keep our people safe.
“There are just six teams entered, but they are good programs so the competition will be strong.”
Arkansas State, Louisiana Tech, Tulane, Prairie View, Sam Houston State and Vanderbilt make up the field at present, although there is an outside chance two more teams could be added.
Opening-day play will consist of five, 5-game Baker matchers while Nov. 6 will have five team games. Total pin fall will determine the champion as medical professionals wanted to hold the tournament to two days to limit personal interactions.
The tournament will be held at the Time to Spare Entertainment Center in Conroe which happens to be the hometown of Commodore Angelica Anthony.
More information will be forthcoming closer to the event.
