NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt swim team kicks off its 2019-20 slate by taking on SEC opponent Alabama on Saturday at the Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville.

The first event will begin at 10 a.m. CT on Saturday. Admission to the meet is free.

The Commodores come off a 2018-19 campaign in which they collected six victories, opening the season with a victory over Campbell and closing the ledger by placing 12th in the SEC Championships.

Vanderbilt will feature six new Dores on Saturday as freshmen Allison Bauer, Alina Jones, Chantal Jordan, Kristen Nutter, Alix Roy and Taylor Ward make their Commodore debuts.

“I am mainly look forward to cheering for my teammates and watch the hard work that they’ve put into practice each and every day pay off,” said Bauer. “I’m excited to swim for these women and the coaches who push me and encourage one another every day. I am thrilled to finally represent Vanderbilt University as an official member of this team.”
