Lizzy Colwell earned CSCAA honorable mention All-America honors

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt rising senior Lizzy Colwell earned honorable mention Scholar All-America honors from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America on Tuesday.

To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship. Second-Team selections (also called Honorable Mention) must have also earned a 3.50 GPA or higher and achieved a “B” time standard for the national championship or participated at a diving zone qualification meet.

A native of New Canaan, Connecticut, Colwell owns the the school record in the 100 breast (1:01.37) and is second all-time in the 400 individual medley (4:20.91) as well as third in school history in the 100 individual medley (59.95). Outside of the pool, the history major is a three-time SEC academic honoree.
