Scarpa named to CoSIDA All-District Soccer Team

Oct. 27, 2016

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Kacy Scarpa of the Vanderbilt soccer team has been named to the first team of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Women’s Soccer Team.

Majoring in Medicine, Health and Society, Scarpa boasts a 4.0 GPA. The redshirt-senior was named the Fall 2015 and 2016 Spring Dean’s List and SEC Honor Roll.

Showing leadership after transferring from Florida State, Scarpa was named senior captain of the 2016-17 Vanderbilt soccer squad. Scarpa has played an instrumental role in the Dores’ midfield, organizing and connecting on passes to attacking players while starting every game this season.

Following graduation, Scarpa plans to attend Physician’s Assistant school and later plans to be a pediatric physician’s assistant.

The list recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Only first teams were chosen for at-large district recognition, so all honorees will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected in June.

Scarpa and the Commodores conclude the regular season on Thursday night at Alabama on SEC Network +.
