Sattelkau and Yu Attack Arizona

Vanderbilt twosome complete first round at NCAA Championships

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona — The first round of the 2021 NCAA Championships is underway and Vanderbilt’s Celina Sattelkau and Louise Yu held their own Friday at the Grayhawk Golf Club.

Sattelkau and Yu both finished 3-over-par and are tied for 52nd among the field of 132.

A sophomore, Sattlekau got off to a hot start with a birdie on 10, her first hole of the day. She remained 1-under-par through 14 holes until she ran into trouble on 6 where she triple bogeyed.

Sattelkau would par the next two holes before a bogey on 18 on the par 72 course.

Yu began her day on the 10th tee and played an even-par first nine holes after a bogey on 16 and birdie on 18. The Vandy senior bogeyed 2, 3 and 9 to finish her day three strokes over par.

Sattelkau is scheduled to tee off a 9:25 a.m. CT Saturday while Yu will take the course at 2:25 p.m. CT. Live scoring for the event can be found HERE.
