Ross Earns NCAA Singles Championship Berth

Ross and Staff tabbed alternates in doubles tournament

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – For the first time in her career, junior Anna Ross will represent Vanderbilt women’s tennis at the NCAA Singles Championship in Champaign, Illinois, at the end of May. Ross joins a long list of Commodores to compete at the individual tournament, including 10 All-Americans.

A second team All-SEC honoree, Ross owns a 14-12 record this season at No. 1 singles and reached as high as 37th-nationally in the ITA Rankings, a career-best. The third-year now boasts an overall record of 34-32 as a Commodore.

On the doubles court, Ross and teammate Holly Staff were selected as alternates for the NCAA postseason tournament. The duo reached as high as 18th-nationally in their career and currently sit 39th in the nation.

The championships are set to stretch May 23-28 in Illinois following the conclusion of the team tournament. The Commodores will face Xavier at 9 a.m. CT on Friday in Columbus, Ohio, in the first round of the NCAA Team Tournament.
