Commodores ready to battle at Ladyjack Classic

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt is back in tournament action starting Friday at Stephen F. Austin’s Ladyjack Classic in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Why is SFA, located in Nacogdoches, Texas, hosting a tournament in Kenosha? The Sheridan Lanes are the home lanes of Ladyjack head coach Amber Lemke and owned by her parents. They have hosted at the venue for several years.

FORMAT AND TIMES

The tournament will use a standard college format with five, 5-Game Baker sets starting at 10:35 a.m. Friday, five traditional games beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and a Sunday championship bracket of three, best-of-seven Baker sets that begins at 8:30 a.m. to determine the final team standings.

Arkansas State (3), Aurora, Carthage, Duquesne (11), Lewis, Marian, Maryville, McKendree (2), Nebraska (1), North Central, Stephen F. Austin (10), Upper Iowa, Whitewater (21), Valparaiso, Vanderbilt (4) and Youngstown State (7).

TOP FOUR TEAMS

The preseason’s top four ranked teams will be in action and for the first time this season Vanderbilt will be in the same tournament field with Nebraska (1), McKendree (2) and Arkansas State (3).

EVERYONE TRAVELS

Vanderbilt is once again taking its entire 11-woman roster to the event.

LAST TIME OUT

Vandy won Adelphi’s Dezy Strong Classic by going 10-3 over the three days. Angelica Anthony was second individually, buoyed by a 300 game, while Mabel Cummins was fourth and Paige Peters was sixth.
