Molly Krestinski posts career-high in win

CONWAY, S.C. – Nancy Halleron and Molly Krestinski led all scorers with four goals each as Vanderbilt topped Coastal Carolina in 19-7 decision on Wednesday afternoon at Brooks Stadium.

Vanderbilt opened firing, scoring three goals off its first three shots to force an early Coastal Carolina timeout. The Dores held the Chanticleers scoreless until just under the three-minute mark in the opening frame, taking a 5-2 lead into the second period. Vandy held the Chants to just one goal in the second frame and scored four of their own, two of which came from Nancy Halleron, leading 9-3 at the break. Coastal came out the break firing, connecting on two quick goals but Vanderbilt would score four straight to extend its lead 13-5 heading into the media timeout. Vandy went on to connect four more times taking a 17-7 into the final frame. Jaime Biskup and Bailey Lower scored the final goals for the Dores to secure the 19-7 win.

Vanderbilt (3-5) had nine scorers in the win, six with multiple goals. Krestinski posted a career-high four goals of five shots and dished one assist.

Cate Bradley posted two goals and dished two assists for a career-high-tying four points and back-to-back multi-goal performances. Jackie Norsworthy added two goals for the Dores, tying her career-best. Biskup posted four points off two goals and a career-high tying two assists, while Sammy Nuchow added three of a goal and two assists.

Coastal Carolina (4-4) had five scores, led by Sydney McClure and Gabrielle Beaudet, who each added two. Evelyn Kitchin posted a game-high 11 draw controls, as the Chants dominated the circle, 21-7. The Chants has 19 turnovers while Vandy only had six

The Dores return to Music City to open conference play on Saturday, hosting No. 14/14 James Madison. Opening draw is scheduled for noon and can be seen on ESPN+.
