Ready for Walker Cup

Senior John Augenstein will represent the United States this Saturday and Sunday

HOYLAKE, England – Vanderbilt senior John Augenstein is set to begin the 47th Walker Cup at this weekend at Royal Liverpool, becoming the second Commodore to play in the prestigious event.

Augenstein will be paired with U.S. Amateur champion Andy Ogletree in a foursomes match against Alex Fitzpatrick and Conor Purcell at 2:30 a.m. CDT, and will play in an individual match later in the afternoon against Purcell at 8:15 a.m. CDT.

Schwab Excelling on European Tour

Former Commodore great Matthias Schwab is having quite the two-week stretch on the European Tour. Last week in Switzerland at the Omega European Masters, Schwab finished in a tie for eighth, and this week at the Porsche European Open in Hamburg, Germany, he is in a tie for second.

Schwab is currently 56th in the Race to Dubai, the European Tour equivalent to the FedEx Championship. The top 50 players on the tour will advance to the DP World Tour Championship November 21-24 at the Jumeirah Golf Estates.

Commodores in Canada

Four Commodores, Theo Humphrey, Will Gordon, Zack Jaworksi, and Patrick Martin are all competing in the regular season finale on the PGA Mackenzie Tour in Montreal, Quebec, at the Mackenzie Investments Open.

The tour finale is set for September 12-15 at the Canada Life Championship.
