Vanderbilt soccer spring enrollee Kimya Raietparvar is currently in Vietnam with the U-19 Iranian National Team in the second round of the Asian Qualifying Tournament.
Raietparvar and the Iranian National Team advanced past round one in Myanmar last weekend. They won their first matchup against Laos, 4-0, but lost to Myanmar, 1-0. The Iranian squad still finished first overall in the tournament.
In round two, Raietparvar and the Iranian National Team will play against Lebanon, South Korea and Vietnam. If they advanced past round two, they will head to Thailand for the third round for the Asian Qualifying Tournament.
Raietparvar is one of five signees for Vanderbilt for the upcoming 2019 season.
