  • The Vanderbilt lacrosse team hosts Kennesaw State at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Vanderbilt Stadium for the Commodores’ nonconference finale.
  • The Commodores and Owls have met every season since 2013 with Vanderbilt holding an 8-0 record in the series.
  • Vanderbilt has scored 20 or more goals in four of the all-time meetings with Kennesaw State, including a 21-11 victory last season in Kennesaw.
  • Entering Wednesday, the Dores have won two games in a row — most recently picking up a 17-13 victory Sunday over High Point.
  • In the win over High Point, Gabby Fornia tied the school record for assists in a game with seven. She is now also tied for the program’s career assists record with 88.
  • For their play last week, Fornia and Melissa Hawkins earned American Athletic Conference weekly awards. Fornia took home Attack Player of the Week after posting two goals and 12 assists during the week. Hawkins was the Defensive Player of the Week with a combined nine ground balls and three caused turnovers in two games. 
  • Kennesaw State is 1-2 on the season and is coming off a 15-14 win at Winthrop on Saturday.
  • A win Wednesday would mark the first time Vanderbilt has won three-consecutive games since opening the 2019 season with five wins in a row.
  • This is the lacrosse program’s second and final game scheduled for Vanderbilt Stadium this season.
  • After the Kennesaw State game, the Dores will have nine days before the start of American Athletic Conference play beginning March 19 at Cincinnati.
