Head coach Stephanie White announced the 2018-19 non conference schedule
NASHVILLE– The Vanderbilt women's basketball team released its 2018-19 nonconference slate on Tuesday. The Dores will play six nonconference regular-season games at home.  Vanderbilt opens the home campaign on Oct. 28 with an exhibition against the University of Indianapolis.
The nonconference features matchups with five NCAA Tournament participants from a year ago and will give fans seven opportunities to see the Commodores in Memorial Gym.
"We are excited to announce a nonconference slate that will challenge us, as well as prepare us for SEC play," said head coach Stephanie White. "We look forward to welcoming some great teams to Memorial and facing some tough challenges on the road."
The 2018-19 season kicks off in earnest on Tuesday Nov. 6 when the Commodores welcome North Alabama to Memorial Gym. North Alabama is entering its first year at the Division I level and has been very successful as members of Division II.
The Dores will face a pair of regional foes in their next two games with a trip to Murfreesboro to take on the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders on Nov. 9, while welcoming Austin Peay to Nashville and Memorial Gym on Nov. 12.

The squad will return home for the Thanksgiving holiday with a matchup with backyard rival, Tennessee State on Nov. 21 before hosting Presbyterian on Nov. 25. The month of December opens with back-to-back road trips with a trek to the Little Apple, better known as Manhattan, Kan., for a showdown with Kansas State on Dec. 2 in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge before heading to Muncie, Ind., for a matchup with Ball State on Dec. 6.
The Commodores will host 2018 Sweet 16 participant Central Michigan on Dec. 15 before heading to the Florida Sunshine Classic in Winter Park, Fla. before the holiday break where they will take on Miami on Dec. 20 and close tournament action against Creighton on Dec. 21.
The Dores final tune-up before the SEC slate will be on Dec. 28 when Samford makes the trip to Nashville.
